My name is Tong, Liya. I am 45 years old and live in Zhongxing Community on the outskirts of Jiamusi City. On June 20, 2018, I started to learn the dance with teacher Yang Yanling. Not long after I started the dance, my palm showed a lot of white powder and cracks, which lasted for more than a month.
Before the deadline, I've been dancing for more than three months. My weight was reduced from 146 kg to 134 kg, losing 12 kg. Everyone said that I lost weight and started to show the waist line. I looked much better in clothes and felt more confident. I used to have periarthritis. When it was bad, I had to try all means including cupping and massage. But it can only relieve the pain for a short while. In the beginning of the clap dance, the shoulder pain got worse. However, I firmly believe in the words that Teacher Yang Yanling said: Persistence is the key for the success. I never stopped dancing and clapping even with very bad pain. My shoulders started with pain, turned into sharp pain and then became numb. After a period of time, the pain became lighter and lighter, and now it stopped hurting. .
I am very grateful to Yang Yanling and other teachers for their big love. They teach us every day for free, commuting on their bikes. I heard that they are also teaching other teams. We are moved by their selfless dedication. They are the examples for us to learn. We must live up to the expectations of the teachers, introducing the Clap Dance to more relatives and friends, bringing health and happiness to everybody.
